# API reference overview

> Base URLs, authentication, errors, and the downloadable spec for the Bilt partner API

Every endpoint on these pages is generated from one OpenAPI 3.1 file, the Bilt partner API.

## Base URLs

The endpoints you host live at base URLs you agree with Bilt during onboarding. Bilt hosts the rest:

| Staging | `https://staging.partnerapi.biltrewards.com` | `https://webhooks.staging.bilt.dev` |

## Authentication

| API | How you authenticate |
| - | - |
| Endpoints you host | The bearer credential you issue to Bilt. |
| Account links | `Authorization: Bearer <token>` from your partner client. See [Authentication](/partners/authentication.md). |
| Order reports | Ed25519 signature in `webhook-*` headers, plus `X-Bilt-Key-Id`. See [Sign your requests](/partners/order-reporting/sign-your-requests.md). |

## Errors

Account links errors use one envelope, `{"error": {"code", "message", "requestId"}}`. Order reports answer `202` and report problems later as a reason. Both are on [Errors and retries](/partners/errors-and-retries.md).
